Salt Lake City, UT -- For 85 years, the League of Utah Writers has been the go-to organization for writers looking to hone their craft and gather with other like-minded individuals. Established in 1935, 2020 marks their 85th anniversary and their 85th writing conference, a multi-day writing event designed to offer instruction to amateur and professional writers alike.

Because of the realities of COVID-19, the League of Utah Writers will conduct their annual gathering virtually, but the conference will lose none of its importance or potency in the temporary switch for their celebration.

The Annual Quills Conference will take place August 13-16 in Salt Lake City Utah.

We are celebrating the 85th year of The League of Utah Writers… while also dealing with a world-wide pandemic. What terrible timing, right? But don’t despair! We have blazed new trails and proven we are able to pull off a conference virtually with the success of this year’s Spring Conference. Thus, we are pushing forward with plans to hold the Quills Conference August 13-16, 2020. Here are some of the details we already know:

  • We will go forward with the publication of an 85th Anniversary Short Story Collection celebrating the league. All attendees will receive ebook copies and for a small fee ($4.95), a paper copy can be shipped anywhere in the continental United States.
